Low frequency
Low frequency
Low-frequency therapy, also named as TENS (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) is globally used in medical centres and beauty clinics. Low-frequency units work by delivering small electrical impulses through adhesive pads that are placed onto the skin. The electrical impulses flood the nervous system, reducing its ability to transmit pain signals to the spinal cord and brain. Alongside this, the same electrical impulses also stimulate the body to produce natural pain relievers called endorphins.
Benefits
Low-frequency therapy, therefore, can aid a variety of conditions and circumstances including:
-
Arthritis
-
Menstrual pain
-
Knee, leg, back and pelvic pain
-
Sport injuries
-
Pain during labour
-
Stimulation of muscle fibres
-
Stimulation of organ function
